We are so excited to be back at the stunning King George’s Hall, Blackburn for our next competition! We are looking forward to welcoming a couple of new dance schools to OTB and we know that some dancers are doing their first ever Street Dance competition ever! How exciting is that!

Your judges for the day will be Ess, Arran, Special K and Aaliyah!

We have now processed the entries for this event and are able to bring you a full schedule, age categories and some more information to help you plan your time with us!

The day will be split into 4 main sections. (Those who are dancing in a team, please double check with your teacher in case your team event is in a different section to your solo events)

Section 1– Events for dancers age 7 years & under
Section 2– Events for dancers age 8 & 9 years (plus parents solos)
Section 3– Events for dancers age 10 & 11 years
Section 4– Events for dancers age 12 years & over

Seating info– All dance schools will have a reserved area to sit in labelled with the dance school name on. If you do arrive early for your events, there is a large unreserved seating area upstairs on the balcony. Please can we ask that you use this area until the section you are involved in begins. There is plenty of space here with a great view of the dance floor. We suggest where possible that attendees arrive for their section no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the timetable.

Priority access will be given to those who have a wristband in advance. Please note that we do not take dancer entries on the day of the event.

Photo/Video Policy- A reminder that you are permitted to take photographs and videos of your own dancers whilst they are performing solos & duos. If anyone objects to this, please see us prior to the start of the event. For teams, strictly only 1 nominated person is allowed to record at this time. During section 1, there are a couple of categories where we will allow videoing however we will be asking attendees not to upload the content anywhere online. This will be for 7 years dance 1 and 7 years beginners freestyle. Teachers are aware of this if you have any questions around this. *Awards for solo & duos events- *Exciting Announcement: Introducing Our New Awards System!
At OTB Dance Events, we are thrilled to unveil our revamped awards system for solo and duo events, aimed at enhancing your competition experience. Here’s how it works:
Immediate Recognition: After each final performance, dancers will be presented with their awards right on the spot.
Powered by Technology: Thanks to our state-of-the-art electronic judging software, our compere now has instant access to the judges’ results as soon as they finish marking. This allows us to announce the results promptly.
A New Presentation Approach: Dancers will be invited to move towards the stage immediately following the final round of their event, forming a line facing the stage. The results will be announced in reverse order, just as we do with teams. Spectators will then be invited forwards for photos with the dancers in their line up.
Smooth Transition: While this photo opportunity unfolds, the next event will be announced on to the floor so our floor staff can check numbers , ensuring a seamless transition and saving time. Dancers leaving the presentation are kindly requested to exit to the sides of the floor, rather than walking through the competitors.
Why have we made this change?
Reduced Wait Times: No more long waits of up to 30-60 minutes for results which we felt was a long time especially for younger dancers.
Improved Accessibility: Our new approach ensures that the presentation floor remains accessible, making it easier for dancers to receive their awards, snap memorable photos, and exit gracefully.
Instant Relevance: Immediate award presentation enhances the connection between the results and the performance.
A Small Request: To keep the process smooth and efficient, we kindly ask that each dancer be accompanied by no more than one spectator during the photo sessions (unless teachers also wish to participate). Please then leave the floor from the sides nearest to the stage rather than walking through the dancers lined up on the floor for their next event.
We believe that this fresh approach will elevate your experience with us.
All dancers will receive an award for taking part in this event. Teachers will be given these at the start of the day for all dancers.
