*Exciting Announcement: Introducing Our New Awards System!
At OTB Dance Events, we are thrilled to unveil our revamped awards system for solo and duo events, aimed at enhancing your competition experience. Here’s how it works:
Immediate Recognition: After each final performance, dancers will be presented with their awards right on the spot.
Powered by Technology: Thanks to our state-of-the-art electronic judging software, our compere now has instant access to the judges’ results as soon as they finish marking. This allows us to announce the results promptly.
A New Presentation Approach: Dancers will be invited to move towards the stage immediately following their final performance, forming a line facing the stage. The results will be announced in reverse order, just as we do with teams. Spectators will then be invited forwards for photos with the dancers in their line up.
Smooth Transition: While this photo opportunity unfolds, the next event will be announced on to the floor so our floor staff can check numbers , ensuring a seamless transition and saving time. Dancers leaving the presentation are kindly requested to exit to the sides of the floor, rather than walking through the competitors.
Why have we made this change?
Reduced Wait Times: No more long waits of up to 30-60 minutes for results which we felt was a long time especially for younger dancers.
Improved Accessibility: Our new approach ensures that the presentation floor remains accessible, making it easier for dancers to receive their awards, snap memorable photos, and exit gracefully.
Instant Relevance: Immediate award presentation enhances the connection between the results and the performance.

A Small Request: To keep the process smooth and efficient, we kindly ask that each dancer be accompanied by no more than one spectator during the photo sessions (unless teachers also wish to participate).

We believe that this fresh approach will elevate your experience with us.

Food & drink policy– The venue has a bar serving hot & cold drinks all day. Hot food will also be available (jacket potatoes, bacon & sausage sandwiches, chips, chip sandwiches,  jumbo hot dogs). Packed lunches are permitted to be brought inside the ballroom but can we kindly ask everyone to clear away any rubbish before they leave. Please don’t bring hot takeaway food inside.

Wristbands– Please have your wristbands on and fastened securely before entering the building. Lost, damaged or forgotten wristbands will not be replaced and will have to be re-purchased.  Please see our full wristband policy on the website. Tickets will be available on the door @ £22.50 however these are only available to people who are attending with a dance school that is booked on to the event.

Photo/video policy- A reminder that you are permitted to take photographs and videos of your own dancers whilst they are performing solos & duos. If anyone objects to this, please see us prior to the start of the event. For teams, strictly only 1 nominated person is allowed to record at this time.

Allocated seating- All seating will be reserved clearly with your dance school name.

Parking- The venue has a large pay & display car park. Its free for 3 hours on weekends but you still must display a ticket from when you arrive (even if staying under 3 hours). The machine accepts cash & card. Address for car park is New Radcliffe Street, Oldham, OL1 1NL. Please note if arriving for the second section of the day (dancers age 12 years & over, more spaces will become available as section 1 leaves).

Merchandise– Our merchandise stall will be there on the day.

Advanced dancers- please speak to your teachers re preparing your music for all stars

Finally, please see below the age categories for all the solo events on the day which are based on the entries received (please note these may differ slightly to the original programme).  As we don’t take duo entries in advance, these will match what is on our programme.
